Ocasan - 'Confessions'

6/10

Buckinghamshire-based pop rock outfit Ocasan release their third and final EP of new material before the release of their much-anticipated second studio album in the coming months. But rather than bridge the gap between their first two records with some taster material, these EPs are to form the bulk of their sophomore album, making them more like teasers than some tracks to just fill the void. Allowing fans to get a tiny slice of what to expect on their next album on every EP release.

Their latest four-track output 'Confessions' looks to be one of the most rock-ready releases of the bunch, no doubt saving the best until the end. Opening with title-track 'Confessions', it quickly gives you the idea that this band are looking to mean business on their new record. A cavalcade of guitars and drums rip through the EP and demonstrate the sheer tenacity and passion this band has to create loud and in-your-face rock music.

While they are still juggling with that American rock sound that proved so popular at the beginning of the century, Ocasan have still managed to create a body of work that shows clear direction and determination, and will no doubt prove their worth on this new full-length.
