Prince has died at home at his estate, his publicist Yvette Noel-Schure has confirmed. He was aged 57.
The star had been in hospital during the latter half of last week battling flu, but there has yet to be any confirmation as to whether this was in any way connected to his death.
The full statement reads, “It is with profound sadness that I am confirming that the legendary, iconic performer, Prince Rogers Nelson, has died at his Paisley Park residence this morning at the age of 57."
Prince had recently released his 39th studio album ‘HITnRUN Phase Two’ last year.
