The Shins and Black Keys' Richard Swift dies, aged 41

The former Shins bassist and touring member of The Black Keys, Richard Shift, has died, aged 41.

Last month, the multi-instrumentalist had been admitted to hospital with what had been described as a "life threatening condition", and a fund raising operation was underway to help pay for his medical bills. However, news of his death was confirmed via his Facebook page, with a post that simply read: "And all the angels sing "Que Sera Sera", Richard Ochoa Swift, March 16, 1977 - July 3, 2018".

As well as his work with The Shins and Black Keys, Swift was also a coveted solo artist, releasing his last studio album 'The Atlantic Ocean' in 2009. Have a listen to his single 'Lady Luck' in the player below.
