Sleater-Kinney unveil new single 'The Center Won't Hold'

With their eagerly-awaited new album due to arrive in less than a month, Sleater-Kinney have now unveiled the next cut to be lifted from their forthcoming full-length.

The new single 'The Center Won't Hold' follows on from the previously shared tracks 'Hurry On Home' and 'The Future Is Here' in previewing their ninth LP, also called 'The Center Won't Hold', which is due out on the 16th August via Mom + Pop Records.

Corin Tucker (guitar/vocals), explains the personal and political overtones; “’The Center Won’t Hold’ drops you into the world of catastrophe that touches on the election. And almost like a mission statement, at the end of that song, it’s like the band is finding its way out of that space by becoming a rock band.”

While Carrie Brownstein (guitar/vocals) expands on the creative process, stating, “Instead of just going into the studio to document what we’d done, we were going in to explore and to find the essence of something. To dig in deeper. It felt like a really crucial part of the process itself, not just the end game.”
