After spending much of the last few years establishing himself with a wealth of rich and alluring delights, New Jersey-based artist Trav Torch is back once again to deliver his new studio album '100% Torch'.
Featuring the previously shared singles 'Pretty Young Thing', 'Right There', 'Like You're Mad At Me', and 'Can I Have You Tonight', this new nine-track collection makes for a wonderfully warm and inviting listen. With his smooth and dreamlike vocals layered across a sweeping R&B production at every turn, he continues to shine as one of the more sultry names doing the rounds right now.
So with the new album available to stream now, we sat down with him to find out more about his origins and what has been inspiring him lately.

What was the first instrument you fell in love with?
The Piano. I can’t play it at all, nor do I know the notes and scales. But, I admire those who can play it well, it is truly fascinating to watch.
What kind of music did you love when you were younger?
Mostly R&B and hip-hop. My favourite artists growing up were Michael Jackson and 2pac.
What was the first album you remember owning?
I believe it was Dangerous by Michael Jackson. The cover art on that album is spectacular.
What is the one song you wished you could have written yourself?
None, actually. As a songwriter myself, I’m influenced by so many great songwriters who paved the way for me. I wouldn’t feel right wanting to take credit for someone else’s work.
Do you have any habits or rituals you go through when trying to write new music?
Usually, I won’t even attempt to write a new song unless my mind is clear. My best songs have been written when I have been inspired by something (that inspiration could come from practically anything that elicits some sort of emotion or feeling) or when I’m going through some sort of ordeal where I’m seeking to write a song as a form of therapy.
Who are your favourite artists you have found yourself listening to at the moment?
Usher, Trey Songz, Brent Faiyaz, Drake, Rick Ross, Trevor Jackson, Chris Brown
If you could open a show for anyone in the world, who would it be?
Trey Songz
What do you find is the most rewarding part about being a musician?
Seeing the joy that others find listening to my music.
And what is the most frustrating part?
I wish more people knew about and listened to my music.
And what is the best piece of advice you have received as a musician?
Great songs don’t exist if no one has heard them. You have to spend ten times as much time and effort promoting your songs as you do creating them.
