What was the first instrument you fell in love with?

I'm trained in yoga and sound healing and love the gong and crystal singing bowls for relaxation and releasing emotions. I always loved the sound of the Guitar growing up but I only started learning in the last few years.

What kind of music did you love when you were younger?

Brit pop Oasis and then the Spice Girls.

What was the first album you remember owning?

Oasis (What's the Story) Morning Glory. I was 10 but would listen most evenings and try to memorise all the words.

What is the one song you wished you could have written yourself?

I always loved Angels by the XX. Soft, romantic, and alluring vibes.

Do you have any habits or rituals you go through when trying to write new music?

I love to do anything that deeply connects me, no specific ritual but I love to use cacao, meditation, or breathwork on the morning/day pre-creating. I often find the best work comes out when I have no expectations, just show up and create in the moment of how I'm feeling instead of having a planned theme in mind. Although usually, when I have a creative session booked with the producer I work with, I have these niggling feelings and thoughts leading up to the date. which I know is an indication of what needs to be written about. I guess just surrendering to what will come through and what needs to be released. I often find songwriting as a healing process of what needs to be let go.

Who are your favourite artists you have found yourself listening to at the moment?

It's very varied I love anything from gospel music such as Hillsong and Victor Thompson which always reconnects me, I was recently on a music retreat and we re-recorded This Year by Victor Thompson. I'm a big fan of Billie Eilish. I also love Venbee, Kenya Grace, and Grace Grundy I love the combo of soft vocals and more energetic beats.

If you could open a show for anyone in the world, who would it be?

Billie Eilish or Kenya Grace.

What do you find is the most rewarding part about being a musician?

To be a deep feeler and be able to share to help uplift others.

And what is the most frustrating part?

I guess the competitive part and social media aspect. I post on my socials but find it a bit consuming having to think of different things to post regularly rather than just posting the music as and when.

And what is the best piece of advice you have received as a musician?

Keep going and just be yourself.
