beabadoobee has unveiled her latest single 'Switchblade', offering fans another glimpse into her forthcoming album 'Pylon', which is scheduled for release on the 18th September through Dirty Hit and Interscope Records.
Following last month's lead release 'Sun Has Set', the new track continues to explore the emotional complexity that appears to sit at the centre of the record. Built around the image of a switchblade, the song examines questions surrounding protection, vulnerability and reaction, without attempting to provide easy conclusions.
Rather than presenting certainty, 'Switchblade' leans into ambiguity, reflecting on the difficult balance between standing your ground and walking away. The lyrics embrace doubt and contradiction, themes that seem to run throughout the wider album.
