Foy Vance shares new single 'We Almost Made It'

Northern Ireland-born, Scotland-based singer-songwriter Foy Vance unveils 'We Almost Made It', the final track to arrive before his forthcoming album 'The Wake', released on the 13th March via Rounder Records.

The new single is among the most emotionally exposed moments from the record. Written during a summer in Sewanee, Tennessee, the song leans into delicate guitar work and subtle percussion as Vance reflects on love that slipped just out of reach. With characteristic candour, he captures the ache of near-misses and the stubborn hope that lingers long after relationships fade.

'The Wake' brings to a close a 26-year creative arc inspired by the loss of Vance’s father in 1999. The 13-song collection, produced by Ethan Johns, traces themes of belief, identity, fatherhood and the tension between sorrow and renewal. Earlier previews have ranged from deeply personal storytelling to bold reflections on modern life.

With 'We Almost Made It', Vance delivers one last poignant glimpse into a record shaped by grief, faith and hard-earned clarity. Have a listen to it in the player below.
