Alfie Templeman - 'Forever Isn't Long Enough'

8/10

While so many acts have wanted to stake a claim to the UK's most anticipated new artist, none have come close to building the buzz like Alfie Templeman. Despite releasing demos and EPs as far back as 2017, he is still only 18 years old and showing a level of proficiency and maturity that some names take decades to perfect. But although the hype reached fever pitch earlier this year, Templeman chose to quash some of the fire by delivering his new mini-album 'Forever Isn't Long Enough', a collection that shows he is far more than just a temporary flash-in-the-pan.

Although his young age has meant that many have viewed him as an artist in development over the last few years, 'Forever Isn't Long Enough' is showing so many that he is far from an infant on the scene and is giving us some of his brightest and best material on here. With an intoxicating love for fun and disco-inspired compositions, Templeman's direction is a smooth and intriguing listen that never looks to take itself too seriously. After all, he is still just a kid in so many ways, and this offering cements him as a name that should be taken just as seriously as some of his older and more experienced counterparts.

It has been a long time coming, but 'Forever Isn't Long Enough' shows us that Alfie Templeman is ready for his place on the mainstage amongst the legends of the industry. His sound is so exciting and enjoyable throughout, it feels like nothing can stand in his way now.
