After following up their much-loved 2022 LP 'Seventh Hymnal' with their stunning comeback singles 'Black Waters' and 'Half Hung Mary' last year, Philadelphia-based outfit 49 Burning Condors are back at it once again with their riveting new offering 'Slit Sparrow Tongue'.
Inspired by a Japanese folktale of the same name, 'Slit Tongue Sparrow' continues that broad and emotive alt-folk aesthetic they have been creating over the years. With its warm and progressive textures, sweeping atmosphere, and come compelling vocals layered throughout, they return to us with one of their more enchanting efforts to date here.
While they have certainly made a strong and lasting impact in recent years, 'Slit Tongue Sparrow' shows they are still very much on top of their creative game right now. With such a strong and commanding approach to their direction throughout, they are definitely ones to keep a firm eye on for the months ahead as well.
