Dublin's 8-bit Funk are bringing a whole new dimension to the world of video game soundtracks with their exhilarating debut album 'Level Design'.
Taking inspiration from some of gaming's most beloved musical moments, the four-piece transform familiar melodies into infectious, jazz-infused arrangements bursting with energy, creativity and irresistible rhythms.
Featuring six imaginative reinterpretations, the record celebrates music from iconic franchises including Super Mario 64, Sonic the Hedgehog, Pokémon and Baldur's Gate 3, introducing a refreshing musical perspective to compositions cherished by generations of players.
Spearheaded by bassist Leon Laisne, alongside drummer Eoghan McCloskey, keyboardist Luca McArdle and saxophonist and flautist Yuzuha O'Halloran, the group have spent the past 18 months developing their distinctive sound on stages throughout Ireland.
Mixed by Maciej Blizinski and mastered by Justin Weis, 'Level Design' marks an exciting arrival for a quartet brilliantly bridging the worlds of contemporary jazz and gaming culture.
