London singer-songwriter Andy Smythe embraces pure optimism on radiant new single ‘Beautiful Day’, following a triumphant sold-out hometown performance at Blackheath Halls.
This new track finds the frontman stepping away from the weightier themes of recent album 'Quiet Revolution' and its companion EP. Instead, ‘Beautiful Day’ celebrates something wonderfully simple as spending a perfect spring day alongside someone you love.
Driving acoustic guitar provides the foundation as his soaring vocals rise above vintage Mellotron and organ textures, while Paul Challenger brings fluid bass and flashes of electric guitar to the arrangement.
Producer Dave Palmer gives everything plenty of room to breathe, capturing an organic performance while allowing the song's combination of classic British pop, rock and folk influences to shine through.
