After breaking through with their insatiable single 'Nothin' at the end of last year, delta-groove outfit North Downs have already set themselves up for a great year ahead, and their latest release just shows exactly how promising they are.
The band's latest track 'Plastic Clouds' sits somewhere between the melodic focus of Elbow and the intriguing musical arrangement of Frightened Rabbit, creating a captivating piece of work. Despite its clear inspirations and influences, 'Plastic Clouds' stages itself as a fresh and exciting sound, that has already managed to turn influential heads throughout the industry.
North Downs are set to play a number of festivals this summer, including The Great Escape, Gottwood, and Secret Garden Party, and although their reputation remains small at the moment, we can imagine a huge swathe of attention thrust on them later this year.
