ARTIST OF THE WEEK: No. 137 Vök

Having spent the last few years releasing their seminal EPs 'Tension' (2013) and 'Circles' (2015), Icelandic post-rock outfit Vök are preparing to release their debut album 'Figure' later this month, and judging by some of their latest material, is already shaping up to be an incredible record.

Inspired by other scandinavian groups such as The Knife and Little Dragon, Vök (whose name means Resonance in Icelandic) have returned with their latest offering 'Show Me', a blissfully-haunted cut from their new studio album. The track uses a mixture of sombre production and echoed vocals to create a mournful listen, that as a whole, still manages to maintain an uplifting sensibility as it plays.

Their album 'Figure' is due out on the 28th April via Nettwerk Records, and the band are also planning a European tour, including three UK dates in the middle of May, in support of the new release.
