ARTIST OF THE WEEK: No. 229 LEISURE

Having spent the last few years building their name and their craft, with the release of their self-titled debut album in 2016 as well as a collaboration with American rapper GoldLink and a feature on the soundtrack to current Netflix hit 'You', New Zealand-based outfit LEISURE look to have their sights on world domination as they prepare to release their highly-hyped sophomore full-length later this year.

Bringing together a diverse array of influences including psych-rock, funk, 90s R&B and early 2000s trippy dance pop to their previous singles ‘Feeling Free’ and ‘Falling’, the band have now returned with one of their more expressive tracks to date in the form of 'Easy Way Out'.

From its funk-filled bassline to the disco-inspired guitar licks, 'Easy Way Out' plays as one of the more dancefloor-ready cuts the group have produced of late, adding a more vibrant side to their catalogue and lending comparisons to the likes of Jungle.

The band are set to release their second studio album later this year, and you can check out 'Easy Way Out' in the player below.
