ARTIST OF THE WEEK: No.247 - Max Pope

As we slowly start to slip into the summer months, it is only nature to become more inclined to let things feel more relaxed and laid-back. And after the success of his previous single 'Man On The Wire' earlier this year, Crystal Palace-born but Brighton-raised frontman Max Pope has got just the thing for you.

His new release '6AM' manages to tap into their swooning and woozy pop vibe artists such as Mac DeMarco and Toro Y Moi have been pushing for years, but in a uniquely English way. With its subtle keys and wistful guitar playing, this new single sees the frontman grow from an emerging talent to a bonafide star in the making.

Speaking about the track's accompanying video, he said, “6AM is about the mundanity vs the surrealities of everyday routine, and also feeling out of place with your surroundings. We shot the video in LA which was surreal in itself for me as I wrote lots of songs when I was younger dreaming of palm trees and blue skies.”

Max Pope is set to release his new EP 'UP' on the 27th September through Caroline International, and you can check out the new video for '6AM' in the player below.
