ARTIST OF THE WEEK: No.315 - Alice Ray

Having received huge support on BBC Introducing for her first two singles ‘I See You’ and ‘For And Against’ in recent months, emerging London-based singer and songwriter Alice Ray now continues the support for her debut EP with the stunning title-track 'Lost In The Dark'.

With a rich and distinct vocal style, Alice Ray looks to follow in the footsteps of Laura Marling and The Staves with her captivating sound. Bringing in a rich array of piano, organ and delicate strings for the release, this new offering showcases her as a serious talent on the new music horizon.

Speaking about the new single, she said, “‘Lost In The Dark’ is a song about meeting someone at a time of great sadness in your life. You bring an energy and a friendship to each other that you didn't know you needed, and at that point in time you help each other to see the next path.

“I like the idea that once we meet someone and share an experience, we always know they exist. It doesn't always mean it's right that our paths carry on together, but for some reason we met them at the right time in order to be able to feel we can carry on to the next part of our own journey.”

Alice Ray's debut EP, also called 'Lost In The Dark', is out on the 27th November. Have a listen to the title-track in the player below.
