ARTIST OF THE WEEK: No.332 - Maple Glider

Since the release of her debut single 'As Tradition', a track that saw praise from the likes of NPR's All Songs Considered, NME Australia, triple j Unearthed and more, emerging Australian singer and songwriter Tori Ziestch aka Maple Glider has now returned to share her latest delight 'Good Thing'.

Marked as her first release through her new home at Partisan Records, best known for Laura Marling, Fela Kuti, IDLES, Fontaines D.C. and many others, 'Good Thing' sees her return in truly uplifting spirits. Channelling a rich and supple aesthetic throughout, her bold yet tortured voice reigns supreme on this light and airy composition.

Speaking about her latest offering, she said, “I wrote this song out of a place of defeat. I was really heartbroken at this point, and very confused. I like the feeling of my independence and I think I was afraid of putting energy into the wrong people. Sometimes we make decisions out of fear and sometimes it’s because we know that it is the best decision to make. Those lines can get very blurry.”
