After spending much of the last year developing and cultivating their sound, emerging Australian duo Royel Otis have now introduced themselves to the world with their stunning debut single 'Only One'.
Lifted from their forthcoming debut EP 'Campus', which is set for release on the 30th September via House Anxiety / Ourness, 'Only One' makes for a wonderfully woozy introduction to their sound. Mixing a subtle blend of indie-pop and psychedelic influences into their new release, it already feels like we are going to be hearing a lot from these two in the months to come.
Speaking about the new offering, they said, “We want to create a sound that holds the same raw, honest, evocative feeling that inspired us to pick up our instruments in the first place. We wrote [Only One] in the midst of recording and kept building on it throughout the process for some fun. A lot of ‘try this or try that’ was going on and I don’t think we ever really knew where we were going with it, but that’s kind of the beauty of the track, it explains its strange structure and changes.”
'Only One' is available to stream now, and you can check out the new video for it in the player below.
