ARTIST OF THE WEEK: No.394 - Headshrinkers

After cementing themselves with a broad and vibrant array of offerings over the last few years, Black Country-based outfit Headshrinkers have now crossed the first major milestone of their career so far by delivering their eagerly-awaited debut EP 'Doorway Conversations'.

Showcased by the new single 'The Sea Has No Friends', their initial EP sees them develop their rich and adventurous folk-pop aesthetic through a fresh and adventurous guise. Produced and mixed by Gavin Monoghan at Magic Garden Studios in Wolverhampton and engineered by Liam Radburn, 'Doorway Conversations' stands as something truly unique and original on the scene as they will no doubt built upon this impressive introduction.

Speaking about 'The Sea Has No Friends', the band's Garran Hickman said, “It was quite the reflective day when I wrote that piece. Words and melody were both written in half an hour. It’s just two entwined memories really: one is of my older relatives sharing stories of their loved ones in the war, and secondly the opening line, ‘the sea has no friends’, are words my dad used to describe the sea.”

Headshrinkers' debut EP 'Doorway Conversations' is available to stream and download now, and you can watch the new video for 'The Sea Has No Friends' in the player below.
