While his former Blaenavon bandmate Ben Gregory recently released his debut studio album 'Episode' since parting ways earlier this year, the band's drummer and songwriter Harris McMillan is now ramping up his Organ Morgan project with the announcement of his debut EP 'Figurehead'.
Coming off the back of a handful of efforts over the last few years, the new five-track collection is being previewed by the new lead single 'The Argument'. Continuing to explore more of the broad and spacey aesthetic he has already pursued since the project began, this new offering makes for an incredibly rich and shimmering listen, brimming with warm and inviting textures throughout.
Adding about 'The Argument', he said, "‘The Argument’ was inspired by a beachfront cafe in Brighton called ‘The Meeting Place’, it was usually deserted on rainy days but would call out order numbers for invisible customers over the tannoy. I started imagining the stories that might lead to a meeting there and one particular idea of two lovers trying to stay cross with each other during the course of an argument became the song."
Organ Morgan's debut EP 'Figurehead' will be released on the 20th July via London-based label Everybody's, and you can watch the new video for 'The Argument' in the player below.
