ARTIST OF THE WEEK: No.522 - PUNCHBAG

South London sibling duo PUNCHBAG have officially signed to Mute and now unleash their ferocious debut single 'Fuck It'. A bold introduction to their genre-smashing sound, the track swings between sugar-sweet pop hooks and radical, leftfield production, colliding raw aggression with unfiltered joy.

Led by Clara and Anders Bach, PUNCHBAG exist in a space where emotional overwhelm is purged in an instant, blurring the lines between euphoria and chaos, softness and steel. With its grand synth washes and piercing beats, 'Fuck It' starts in introspection—Clara’s vocals tracing anxieties about time slipping away—before the song flips into an all-out punk explosion. Overdriven guitars plunge in divebombing riffs as Clara delivers the track’s cathartic battle cry: “We might as well just say go fuck it! ’Cos we’re all gonna die, die, die!”

A defining statement, but not a nihilistic one. “It’s more like, we only have so much time, so do the thing you want to do,” Clara explains. “Kiss the person you want to kiss, say that thing you want to say.”

Directed by Joe Gainsborough, with creative direction from Abi Ford, the track’s high-impact video amplifies its explosive energy.
