Manila-born, London-based indie artist Niki Colet returns with the stunning video for 'Devil On My Shoulder', the haunting centrepiece of her debut pop EP 'We Only Ever Meet In Strange Dreams'. Produced by Parakeet Pictures (Fred again.., beabadoobee), and directed by Maddy Williams with Thomas Willows as Director of Photography, the video brings Colet’s exploration of grief, memory, and emotional closure to vivid life.
Visually referencing iconic moments from Perfect Blue, Pretty Woman, and Twin Peaks, the video flips the EP’s original red-centric concept by immersing Colet in a surreal world of blues. “We thought about flipping the narrative,” she shares. “It was about taking control again—putting myself back in the driver’s seat.”
'Devil On My Shoulder' grapples with the complexities of missing someone you no longer want in your life—a quietly devastating meditation on the pain of being replaced, and the courage it takes to let go.
