UK nu-hardcore outfit Bodyweb are back, and more unhinged than ever. Emerging from Leeds’ gritty underground scene, the five-piece have carved out a volatile identity marked by emotional volatility, digital dread, and raw physicality. Their latest single 'deadwire' offers a harrowing preview of 'deadwired', the band’s second EP, due on the 5th September via Flatspot Records (home to Speed, Scowl, and End It).
Built around frontman Louis Hardy’s searing vocal delivery, 'deadwire' doesn’t just crackle with intensity, it convulses. It’s a track that lurches between serrated breakdowns and unexpected moments of melodic vulnerability, before plunging into a synth-drenched finale that feels like a cold reboot to the nervous system. The accompanying video, shot by Martina Pastori, captures the song’s emotional chaos against the bleak architecture of Leeds, a fitting backdrop for Bodyweb’s brand of existential hardcore.
Speaking on the track, Hardy describes it as a reckoning with broken trust and the pain of severing ties: “It’s about fading relationships, cutting people off, and seeking truth in a world of lies.” For Bodyweb, suffering isn’t a dead end, it’s a doorway to transformation.
