ARTIST OF THE WEEK: No.568 - LALA HAYDEN

London/Barcelona-based artist LALA HAYDEN has unveiled her striking new single and video ‘PLM’, a shape-shifting dance-pop anthem that dives headfirst into themes of identity, transformation, and the tension between love and fear.

Blending shimmering synth-pop with a disco-laced groove, ‘PLM’ (short for Psychosomatic Love Machine) was co-written and produced by Jake Gosling (Lady Gaga, Paloma Faith). The track was written during Hayden’s pregnancy, serving as a powerful reflection on womanhood and reinvention rather than erasure.

The visually arresting video, co-directed by Ariana Oña, Nerea Figueras, and Hayden herself, is set in a surreal red-curtain dreamscape, where stylised tableaus blur the lines between domesticity and power, childhood and motherhood.

Fans of Robyn, Róisín Murphy, and Jessie Ware will find much to love in Hayden’s genre-spanning sound and fearless creative vision. Stay tuned for more from her forthcoming project later this year.
