Dublin trio Bucket have returned with their explosive new single ‘DNB’, a jagged, breakbeat-laced blast of noise rock that signals another bold step toward a forthcoming project due later this year.
Mixed and engineered by Dublin producer James Eager (Lankum, The Scratch), the track took shape after a trip to Bristol, where the band found themselves immersed in a new wave of drum and bass. What started as two separate musical ideas gradually collided into one volatile, constantly shifting piece, driven by sharp turns and rhythmic intensity.
Lyrically, ‘DNB’ dives headfirst into spiralling social anxiety. Frontman Cian Dahdouh describes the song as capturing a narrator on the brink, unravelling internally after repeatedly misreading social cues. The result is a dramatic, almost theatrical portrayal of overthinking and mania, matching the track’s unpredictable sonic shifts.
The single follows recent live appearances at Eurosonic, alongside sets at Primavera Sound, New Colossus in NYC, and Supersonic Block Party in Paris. Now operating as a trio with drummer Korey Thomas (Bricknasty), Bucket continue to sharpen their rhythm-heavy, abrasive sound.
‘DNB’ is out now, with festival appearances at ArcTanGent, FOCUS Wales and Sniester Festival still to come this year.
