Internationally acclaimed singer-songwriter BANKS unveils her powerful new single 'Love Is Unkind' via ADA Worldwide, the independent label and artist services division of Warner Music Group.
BANKS describes the track as deeply personal: “‘Love Is Unkind’ is about an emotionally dangerous relationship that had me running around in circles. It’s about how love can be unkind and masochistic—rewinding your memory and seeing things clearly.”
With its haunting production and brooding energy, 'Love Is Unkind' channels the raw emotion and sonic depth of BANKS’ 'Goddess'-era sound while also showcasing her growth as an artist. The single is a standout addition to her upcoming fifth studio album 'Off With Her Head, set to release on the 28th February.
Speaking about the forthcoming album, BANKS says, “In many ways, it’s a big sister album to Goddess. After a decade apart, I’ve reunited with the core musicians and producers who helped shape my debut. At the same time, it’s something entirely different—I’ve grown so much as an artist and a person, and the journey is documented in all these sounds.”
'Off With Her Head' will also feature previous singles 'I Hate Your Ex-Girlfriend' ft. Doechii, and “Best Friends”, hinting at an album that is both introspective and bold.
