Blonde Redhead announce new album 'The Shadow Of The Guest'

Blonde Redhead — the iconic art-rock trio of Kazu Makino and twin brothers Simone and Amedeo Pace — return with an unexpected new project: 'The Shadow of the Guest', a reimagined companion album to their acclaimed 2023 release 'Sit Down for Dinner'. The record will arrive digitally on 27th June via section1, with a limited physical edition set to follow this autumn.

Leading the announcement is the release of 'Before (Choir Version)', a striking rework of one of the original album’s most poignant tracks. Featuring the Brooklyn Youth Chorus, the new version expands the song’s emotional core with sweeping harmonies and a youthful clarity that reframes it from a child’s perspective.

“‘Before’ was written with a choir in mind,” says Makino. “I wrote it for kids and the POV of children… They truly owned the song as if they wrote it. That’s pretty remarkable.”
