Four decades into their remarkable story, Bloodkin return with ‘Enemy Within’, a deeply personal new single that introduces the next chapter of the veteran Americana outfit.
The track arrives during a period of profound change for the band and founding member Eric Carter, who celebrates his 60th year while continuing to navigate life following the 2021 passing of lifelong friend, collaborator and Bloodkin songwriter Daniel Hutchens.
‘Enemy Within’ emerges from a body of work shaped by grief, recovery and the complicated process of moving forward. Carter has also faced his own difficult journey in recent years, recovering from a serious accident while working through PTSD and depression. Music, therapy and the support of those around him gradually provided a route back.
But with this new outing, Bloodkin are turning hardship into forward motion, delivering a poignant reminder that their story still has plenty left to tell.
