Toronto’s beloved indie collective Broken Social Scene have confirmed their long-awaited return with a brand new studio album 'Remember The Humans', set for release on 8th May via City Slang in the UK/EU and Arts & Crafts in North America. The record marks their first full-length since 2017’s 'Hug of Thunder' and reunites the band with David Newfeld, the producer behind their era-defining early work including 'You Forgot It in People'.
Alongside the album announcement, Broken Social Scene have shared lead single 'Not Around Anymore', a poignant, layered reflection on fading hope in a hyperconnected-yet-isolated world. With Kevin Drew’s vocals at the helm, the track blends nostalgia with shimmering defiance, offering warmth and humanity amid dense arrangements of horns, electronics, and guitars. The song is accompanied by a video co-directed by Jordan D Allen, Rachel McLean, and Kevin Drew.
Described as a reminder to “remember the fragile, analogue beings at the centre of all the noise,” 'Remember The Humans' captures the chaotic beauty of our times while staying true to the band’s heart-led, maximalist ethos.
