The Bronx - 'V'

7/10

Having spent more than the past decade cementing themselves as one of the world's premiere punk outfits, Los Angeles' The Bronx return with their fifth full-length 'V', a record that sees them explore more of their tenacious attitude and ferocious songwriting than we have heard from them recently.

After spending much of the last few years in the adopted guise of their Mexican-inspired side-project Mariachi El Bronx, the band return to their original form to share a record that looks to rekindle the energy of their early work. While this recent release sees them as more of a progressive outfit, searching a more explorative route when it comes to their direction, 'V' still manages to tick all the boxes of what we would expect from this terrific outfit.

Not quite living up to the reputation of their predecessors, 'V' still delivers on what The Bronx always promise, which is a non-stop riot of tenacity and high-octane power. Enjoyable from start to finish, this record perfectly fits the form the band have maintained after all these years.
