Bruce Springsteen has announced the release of 'Faithless', a long-shelved album originally intended as the soundtrack to a never-completed “spiritual Western” film. The full record will be available as part of 'Tracks II: The Lost Albums', a monumental archival release arriving on the 27th June via Sony Music.
Written in a burst of inspiration over two weeks in Florida between the Devils & Dust tour and The Seeger Sessions, 'Faithless' is a haunting meditation on belief, purpose, and acceptance. Featuring 11 tracks—four of them instrumental interludes—the album captures Springsteen’s cinematic vision of spirituality in the mythic American West.
“This was a really unusual collection of songs,” Springsteen says. “I just wrote atmospheric music that I thought would fit.”
'Faithless' is the third track previewed from 'Tracks II', following 'Rain in the River (Perfect World)' and 'Blind Spot' (Streets of Philadelphia Sessions)'. The box set will include six previously unreleased full-length albums and arrive in deluxe nine LP, seven CD, and digital formats, accompanied by a 100-page hardcover book with rare photos and new essays.
