Calico City have spent the past few years steadily carving out a space of their own in Perth’s alternative scene, and on ‘Gotta Go’ they sound ready to push that momentum much further. Serving as the final preview of their upcoming debut EP 'Second In Line', ‘Gotta Go’ brings together the two sides of the band’s identity with real confidence. Reggae-informed verses sway with a loose, summery feel, while the choruses snap into a much harder alt-rock attack, driven by raucous guitars and sharp, energetic drums.
The vocal interplay between Brianne Reyes and Sienna Law is one of the song’s strongest features. Their voices complement one another naturally, with rich harmonies giving the track an added lift while keeping the hooks front and centre.
