Captains Of Entropy unveil new single 'Infection'

LA instrumental trio Captains of Entropy continue their free-flowing musical evolution with new single ‘Infection’, a laid-back fusion of psychedelic textures, jazz-inspired grooves and cinematic experimentation.

Despite its ominous title, ‘Infection’ is considerably warmer than its name suggests. Rubber-like bass, crisp percussion and hazy keyboard lines gradually intertwine, creating an easygoing instrumental journey that reflects the intuitive chemistry between keyboardist Mike Kanon, bassist Reilly Wareham and drummer Jason Young.

Long-time collaborator Matthew Mourgides captures that chemistry in the accompanying video, filmed at New Monkey Studios and presented more like an intimate glimpse into a rehearsal than a conventional performance film.

Following debut album 'The Flea & The Worm', Captains of Entropy are now moving towards their next EP, expanding upon a sound informed by 70s jazz fusion, 90s psychedelia and cinematic composition. ‘Infection’ suggests that even with a little more structure, their instinct for exploration remains firmly intact.
