Chet Faker announces new album 'A Love For Strangers'

Australian artist Chet Faker is officially back. The critically acclaimed songwriter and producer (aka Nick Murphy) opens a bold new chapter with the announcement of his upcoming album 'A Love For Strangers', set for release on on the 13th February 2026 via BMG.

The news arrives alongside the release of euphoric new single 'This Time For Real', a breezy, infectious anthem that blends Faker’s signature soulful vocals with a cheeky, self-aware charm. Playful, self-reflective, and addictive in equal measure, the track confronts the weight of expectation with swagger and sincerity. The accompanying video, featuring Chet traversing New York City by jet ski, pedicab, and sports car, only adds to the single’s exuberant energy.

'This Time For Real' sets the tone for an album that marks a creative homecoming. Following the anniversary of 'Built on Glass' and years of musical reinvention under his own name, 'A Love For Strangers' sees Faker reconnecting with the spirit of his early breakthroughs; blending emotional candour with sonic curiosity.
