Chet Faker returns with new single 'Inefficient Love'

One of Australia’s most celebrated voices, Chet Faker (aka Nick Murphy) makes a soul-baring return with 'Inefficient Love', a delicate and emotionally charged offering that finds him at his most vulnerable.

Built around a hushed guitar strum and softly layered vocals, 'Inefficient Love' is a song of tension and tenderness, unpacking the complexities of giving and receiving love. “It feels old and I love it,” says Murphy, who wrote the track in minutes, describing it as a moment that “beamed in from somewhere.”

Following recent single 'Far Side of the Moon', the track continues a deeply personal new chapter for the ARIA-winner, known for blending electronic soul and introspection. With 'Hotel Surrender' (2021) and acclaimed earlier works under both his moniker and birth name, Murphy continues to evolve with unfiltered honesty.
