Clarity Liao turns an unsent confession into new single ‘Have You’

Emerging singer-songwriter Clarity Liao offers another glimpse into forthcoming EP 'Dear…' with ‘Have You’, a tender indie-pop track centred on feelings that never quite made it into words.

Written about a friend she secretly developed feelings for, the song looks back at the small ways she tried to attract his attention, from changing her appearance to immersing herself in his musical tastes. Ultimately, however, those feelings remained unspoken, giving ‘Have You’ the character of a letter written for somebody who may never read it.

The restrained production complements that idea beautifully. Bedroom-pop intimacy, spacious instrumentation and Liao’s delicate vocal performance allow the uncertainty and longing behind the lyrics to remain firmly in focus.

The single will feature on her seven-track 'Dear…' EP, a collection exploring the conversations and confessions that relationships so often leave unfinished.
