Isle of Wight band Coach Party have dropped their latest single 'Do Yourself A Favour', the second preview of their upcoming album Caramel, due out on the 26th September via Chess Club Records.
A stormy fusion of maximalist grunge and shoegaze haze, 'Do Yourself A Favour' pulses with thundering drums and surging guitars, as Jess Eastwood’s gauzy vocals drift above the chaos. The track arrives with a live music video filmed at the band’s electric sold-out show at London’s 100 Club, a celebratory underplay marking the album announcement.
“‘Do Yourself A Favour’ is our sympathy song for anyone stuck in procrastination,” says drummer and producer Guy Page. “It seems harmless at first, but it snowballs into a rut of anxiety and self-doubt.” Reflecting this theme, the track leans into a more mellow, dreamlike tone compared to the band’s usual punchy sound.
'Caramel' promises a raw dissection of loneliness and isolation in a hyper-connected world, but ultimately celebrates the bonds and connections that pull us back to life. Following the explosive first single 'GIRLS!', a rallying call for community and empowerment that premiered on BBC 6Music and racked up widespread acclaim, 'Do Yourself A Favour' further teases the emotional depth and sonic evolution of the band’s second LP.
