Scottish-born, London-based singer-songwriter Danny McGuire returns with ‘Friends ’Til the End’, a beautifully nostalgic new single that turns friendship, travel and fading summer days into expansive indie-pop.
The track follows June’s ‘Won’t Let Nobody Hurt You’ and continues an increasingly confident new chapter for the artist. Where some songs arrive fully formed, ‘Friends ’Til the End’ developed gradually, with its individual sections becoming attached to different memories and emotions along the way.
A subsequent trip to Los Angeles ultimately helped define its sound. Driving through the canyons with one of his closest friends, windows down in the early autumn warmth, gave him the atmosphere he wanted to capture when returning to London.
Having previously lived in Amsterdam, Toronto, Brisbane and Glasgow, Danny McGuire brings a naturally well-travelled perspective to his music. On ‘Friends ’Til the End’, however, the focus is those friendships and fleeting experiences that remain with us long after the journey itself has ended.
