The Dead Daisies have returned with 'Lookin’ For Trouble', a thunderous blues-rock record born from a late-night jam at the legendary FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals. Surrounded by the ghosts of Aretha Franklin and Etta James, the band tapped into the spirit of the genre’s greats, reimagining classic tracks with high-voltage grit and a modern edge.
The album opens with a blistering take on Robert Johnson’s 'Crossroads' and doesn’t let up, ripping through Freddie King’s 'Going Down', Albert King’s 'Born Under A Bad Sign', and B.B. King’s 'The Thrill Is Gone', each track laced with The Daisies’ unmistakable swagger. Their rendition of John Lee Hooker’s 'Boom Boom' channels Detroit dive-bar cool, while centrepiece 'Black Betty' explodes with pounding rhythm and blues fury.
Cut live on the floor and steeped in reverence, 'Lookin’ For Trouble' is a love letter to the blues, delivered with fists clenched and amps cranked.
