Dinosaur Pile-Up - 'Celebrity Mansions'

8/10

Since their conception back in 2007, Dinosaur Pile-Up have enjoyed a strong run as one of the country's best loved underground rock acts. With three studio albums under their belt, the trio have built up a strong and devout fanbase over the last decade, all craving their fun and tenacious style of frenzied rock. But as they return to deliver album number four, the group recently signed to Parlophone, making this their major label debut, and from the very start it is clear that 'Celebrity Mansions' is looking to impress their new and established home.

While fans of their work will not be surprised as to what to expect on here, it is obvious that the three-piece have upped their game on this new collection. While the frenzy and engaging songwriting remains at its core, there is a distinct level of boundary pushing going on here. No longer satisfied with the peripheries of the scene, Dinosaur Pile-up have taken to this new release like an unstoppable juggernaut, reeling off one belter of an anthem after another. Mixing up everything from alt-rock grunge to light and fun pop-punk, the band look to make their fourth album their most explosive to date.

It is very satisfying to hear that even after all these years, they are still keen to give their audience something to truly get their teeth into. And while they may now be sitting pretty on the major label circuit, they have not lost touch with their roots, delivering exactly what they have always done, but this time turned it up to eleven.
