Dublin's iNNUENDO drop theatrical new single

There's a particular kind of rage that comes from being stabbed in the back by someone you trusted—and Dublin quartet iNNUENDO have bottled it into their sharpest single yet. 'Rosemary' doesn't wallow in betrayal; it weaponises it, turning hurt into a strutting, synth-soaked banger that sounds like Florence Welch fronting The Last Dinner Party at a revenge party.

Drawing from the theatrical bombast of Kate Bush and David Bowie, the track kicks off with delicate piano work before detonating into a full-throttle art-pop explosion. Choppy guitars and pounding drums drive toward a chorus designed for shouting back at the world, but it's the second verse—where a wall of sparkling arpeggiators crashes in—that really steals the show. It's theatrical without being overwrought, catchy without being safe.

The backstory is almost as satisfying as the song itself. What started as a dig at a bandmate's nightmare piano teacher evolved into something bigger: an anthem for anyone who's ever had a friend turn toxic. "Lyrically, it's about the sting of resentment and disappointment when a close friend turns on you, talks behind your back, and leaves you blindsided," the band explains. "Everyone has experienced that betrayal, and this song is about cutting out those kinds of people and moving into a better space—'new world is coming through, the old is booted out with you.'"

The whole thing nearly didn't happen. iNNUENDO were messing around with the track in their college practice rooms when a lecturer walked past, heard it, and immediately offered them free studio time. A few weeks later, they were in the studio with producer Daniel DeBurca, capturing the raw, kinetic energy that's made them one of Ireland's most exciting live acts.

'Rosemary' is the latest preview of their upcoming EP 'Best Selling Show', the follow-up to last year's debut EP On Occasion. Since forming in 2022, the four-piece have been carving out their own lane in Dublin's thriving alt-pop scene with dynamic, unapologetically unique tracks that merge nostalgic influences with a modern edge.
