Editors return with new single 'Call It In'

After a period of relative quiet, Editors step back into focus with 'Call It In', their first new material since 2022’s 'EBM', and it feels like the start of another subtle reinvention.

Written during secluded sessions in rural England, the track leans into a more immediate, band-led approach, trading polished distance for something more grounded and collaborative. Frontman Tom Smith frames it as a meditation on vulnerability, a search for connection in the face of creeping existential anxiety.

There’s a quiet intensity to the song, balancing emotional weight with a sense of release, as the band navigate the noise of modern life and the need to reach beyond it. Visually, the accompanying video, directed by guitarist Justin Lockey, mirrors that atmosphere with understated precision.

More than two decades on from their formation, Editors continue to evolve without losing their core identity. 'Call It In' subtly signals a new era, with a band still pushing forward, still searching for something deeper.
