English Teacher announce debut album 'This Could Be Texas'

After the rousing response to their much-loved outings 'The World’s Biggest Paving Slab', 'Mastermind Specialism', and 'Nearly Daffodils' in recent months, English Teacher have now announced their plans for their debut studio album, arriving in the coming months.

The new full-length 'This Could Be Texas' is being previewed by the new lead single 'Albert Road', which comes accompanied by a Douglas Frost & Sarah Oglesby-directed video, and is set to be released on the 12th April via Island Records.

Speaking about the new record, singer Lily Fontaine said, “I want this album to feel like you’ve gone to space and it turns out it’s almost identical to Doncaster. It’s about inbetweens, it’s about home, and it’s about Desire Paths.” In several songs, Fontaine reflects on growing up as a mixed-race individual in a place, she says, “where many didn’t have any tolerance towards people who are different” in a post-Brexit landscape."
