Chris Bull, best known as the former frontman of Manchester indie-rock outfit City Reign, continues the rollout of his Every Other Weekend project with the release of new single ‘Resolution’, taken from the forthcoming debut album 'All Present and Inept'.
Built around a delicate piano motif and understated arrangement, ‘Resolution’ finds the frontman exploring themes of change, loss, and personal renewal. The track emerged during a period of significant reflection, following a series of life-altering events that included family bereavement, the end of a marriage, and the conclusion of his previous band.
After stepping away from music for several years, he found himself returning to the piano he grew up hearing his father play. And that connection became the foundation for ‘Resolution’, with the song developing naturally from a melody that arrived during those quiet moments back at the family home.
Recorded and self-produced in his mother’s garage with assistance from former Abbey Road engineer Mick Morrison, the single also features lead guitar contributions from former City Reign bandmate Mike Grice. The recording process drew heavily on vintage equipment once owned by Bull’s father, adding another layer of personal significance to the project.
