Eythor Arnalds drops new album 'Music for Walking'

Icelandic composer and cellist Eythor Arnalds returns with 'Music For Walking', a stunning ten-track collection that transforms contemporary classical music into an immersive journey through reflection, movement and emotional discovery.

Recorded with the Reykjavík Symphony Orchestra at Harpa Concert Hall and produced alongside Grammy Award-nominated engineer Bergur Þórisson, the album blends sweeping orchestral arrangements with ambient minimalism to create a listening experience designed to be felt as much as heard.

Inspired by Iceland’s extraordinary landscapes, the record moves effortlessly between delicate string arrangements, subtle piano motifs and expressive cello passages, capturing the rhythm of footsteps, shifting scenery and evolving thought. Tracks such as 'Progression', 'Body of Water', 'Opening' and 'Promenade No. 7' showcase Arnalds’ gift for creating music that rewards complete immersion.

Accompanied by striking visuals filmed across Iceland’s glaciers, volcanic terrain and dramatic coastlines, 'Music For Walking' presents a complete artistic vision that extends beyond traditional album listening. At a time when constant distraction has become the norm, Eythor Arnalds offers something increasingly valuable: an album that creates space for contemplation, calm and genuine emotional connection, further cementing his place among contemporary classical music’s most compelling composers.
