Throughout his illustrious tenure to date, Father John Misty has always looked to add a more effervescent approach to his aesthetic than many. Combining a broad and emotive production with a focus on classic soul revelry has made him one of the more admired names on the scene, one that always looks to build on everything that has come before. And after continuing his ascent on his 2022 LP 'Chloë and the Next 20th Century', he returns once again with his latest studio album 'Mahashmashana', a record that continues that sharing endeavour he has always looked to conjure.
Much like what his catalogue to date has been exploring, 'Mahashmashana' makes for a wonderfully warm and encapsulating listen. Giving us yet more of that rousing vocal delivery with an awe-inspiring texture across all eight tracks, his newest outing finds him in confident spirits as he looks to add yet more euphoric ventures to his sprawling repertoire to date.
Keeping very much in the same vein he has always pursued, 'Mahashmashana' still manages to keep its head above water and maintain a fresh perspective on his alluring nature. Moving with this subtle elegance from start to finish, Father John Misty returns with one of his more cohesive and succinct releases yet.
