Felix Rockey returns with new single 'Old New Feelings'

There's something fitting about a song called 'Old New Feelings' being built around the strange way love can feel familiar and completely overwhelming at the same time. For 20-year-old French artist Felix Rockey, the track looks back on the second time he fell in love; an experience that proved just as intense, and perhaps even more revealing, than the first.

But instead of treating heartbreak as a clean ending, he focuses on memory, longing and the recognition that certain feelings never really disappear. The result sits somewhere between nostalgia and romance, capturing the perspective of a young adult still learning what love, freedom and reciprocity actually mean.

Musically, 'Old New Feelings' leans into indie-rock with a warm, melodic sensibility. The track also marks a notable step forward in his development so far, as it's the first time the musicians from his live band have all recorded their own parts on one of his songs. That collective approach brings a broader sense of movement and chemistry to the material, moving beyond the more solitary process behind his debut EP 'Eos'.

His writing remains focused on direct emotion, and the song's strength lies in its refusal to overcomplicate the experience it describes. This is music about remembering the rush of falling for someone and recognising how deeply that period can stay lodged in you.

Felix Rockey isn't trying to turn heartbreak into something grand or tragic. He's far more interested in the traces it leaves behind. And on 'Old New Feelings', those traces feel bright, tender and unexpectedly alive.
