Since the release of their highly-praised self-titled debut album in 2005, the Brewis brothers, better known as Field Music, have slowly but surely become one of this country's most prized musical treasures. With a strong and steady stream of new material ever since, the band have been adorned with a strong and devout fanbase, as well as earning themselves "national treasure" status from publications such as NME in recent times. Now they return with their eighth studio album 'Flat White Moon', a record that continues their firm and positive ascent through the scene.

With each release so far, the pair have found themselves growing with popularity. It seems that with every new album they drop, a flurry of new disciples latch onto their sound and begin to sing their praises. And it is clear from the very start of 'Flat White Moon' that they are going to be getting a lot of new attention from this. While the subjects behind the release aren't the most jolliest of lyrical topics, their aim was to create an LP of songs that the listener would still feel good about, creating this juxtaposition of upbeat and shimmering textures backed up by a more sombre and solemn intent.

It is this beautiful parallel that gives 'Flat White Moon' such an incredibly powerful direction. With each track that passes, the duo look to deliver something warming and diverse in order to keep the freshness alive throughout, something they pull off with ease. Field Music have been one of the most consistently brilliant names around right now, and that hasn't stopped here at all.
