Fresh off the back of their enormous hit single ‘Eternal Flame’, a collaboration with Chinese mobile game Arknights which has seen earned more than one million streams since its release last month, Phoenix-based outfit Forts are back at it once again as they deliver their thunderous new effort 'The Chemist'.
Channelling more of that raw and atmospheric direction they have cultivated for themselves, 'The Chemist' sees the return in fine form. Blending a subtle mix of reggae-inspired alt-pop with dark-pop tendencies, their newest offering makes for an extremely absorbing listen. Always on the edge of exploding, they have this incredibly dense sound that feels so natural and organic despite its electronic roots.
Having already worked with labels such as Enhanced and Anjunabeats in the past, Forts are clearly aiming to become one of the most alluring new names emerging right now. With a powerful and compelling texture threaded throughout their material to date, it feels like we will be hearing a lot more from the trio in the months ahead.
